Rachel Atherton crashes into a truck

Downhill champ Rachel Atherton crashed head on into a truck, destroying her carbon Cervelo. You can see more of the bike in this Youtube interview. More info in the news story. She is from Britian but was riding in the US, it sounds like she forgot to ride on the correct side of the road and they both she and the truck swerved to the same side of the road. With no helmet she's lucky to to have relatively minor injuries.

More Mavic R-Sys

This is one of the reasons the Mavic R-Sys was recalled. Carbon spokes are a bad idea.

Mavic R-SYS Recall

Mavic is recalling all R-SYS front wheels since "...the carbon tubular spokes of the R-SYS front wheel may break during use in certain circumstances and causing the rider to lose control and possibly fall, potentially sustaining injury." More info on the Mavic site

Giant Cracks

After a few weeks off for Christmas, I'm back. My leg is still broken, and carbon bikes are still breaking. Today it's a Giant that is completely destroyed.
