Pinarello F4:13

I've posted this bike once before, but now I have more photos and details.

Arech says:
I was racing and deviate a race accident, i didn't lost the control, i was estable but the front road lock, my body was back and made an handspike, the frame broke, and i fell!
Translated to English it apparently means:

1) He was racing.
2) He avoided running into a crash ahead of him.
3) He locked the front wheel (brake).
4) He started to go over the handlebars.
5) The frame broke.
6) He crashed to the ground, frame already broken.

I find it hard to believe hitting the brakes can destroy your frame, but stranger things have happened.

Busted TT Bike

Ted send me a good write up about the Missouri State Time Trial. He ended up with heat stroke and crashed a few times, unfortuneatly his bike didn't survive.

Specialized S-Works Roubaix

Ray sent me this picture of his bike. He didn't crash it, it just cracked a few inches in front of the bottom bracket. If you have any photos, please send them to me.

Campy Cranks

There is a chunk of carbon missing from this crank, but it's no big deal, it's still rideable.

No Carbon Wednesday: Cranks Fall Off

Why are so many cranks falling off? It's an epidemic!

Carbon Crank

Here is a broken crank. I didn't even know people were using carbon cranks in 2002.

Carbon Forks

Looks like no name forks on a no name bike. Why spend the money for a carbon bike if it isn't covered in logos?

Spinergy Rev-X

This one is a little hard to see, but what you are seeing is the remains of a Spinergy Rev-X wheel. Only one bladed carbon spoke and a small segment of the rim remains.

Colnago Carbon Crank

What's inside a carbon crank? Foam.

Carbon Bar Ends

A set of broken carbon bar ends. I didn't know people still used bar ends, I thought that was a 90s thing.

Broken XC Frame

Just a short clip showing a break in what appears to be the down tube.

Max Plaxton Talks About Breaking His Seatpost

Max Plaxton talks about breaking his carbon seat post. It cost him the Canadian national cyclocross title, but he still finished 3rd. Jump to the 36 second mark of the video.

Broken in two.

No Carbon Wednesday: Crank Falls Off

Crank arms seem to fall off a lot these days. I've seen it on the road, cyclocross and the track. It's always funny to see somebody try and walk with a crank stuck to their foot.

Busted Bars

A break like this is fairly common with carbon bars. Always check your bars after a crash.

Cervelo Steerer

Another broken steerer tube. Thanks to Quentin for the picture.
