same thing happened to me. titec bars on a rigid bike.
heh - i bet you're gonna be that guy who broke a ti frame. ;)
It's the upside down faceplate that did it.
yup, looks like every other black sheep product I've seen, from bars, to forks (ending in disastrous results for the rider), to seatposts, to frames, it all seems to break, quickly, and very badly.
Somebody honestly needs to put a stop to this guys willingness to sell products that cause people harm.
